The Thor range features many innovations including both foot and one handed operation of the splitter, while still complying with current Health and Safety regulations. It is one off the most important improvements to splitter technology in recent years, and gives Thor a huge advantage over their competitors with up to 50% more production than similar sized machines. An interesting but not immediately obvious safety bonus of the Thor range of log splitters is the fact that operators are not tempted to disable the control system to allow one handed operations. This is a common practice with other makes and can lead to accidents. The ‘Leader’ control system was also one of the factors which lead to the HSS Hire group choosing Thor 6 tonne Alpino log splitters for their hire shops throughout the British Isles. Thor’s latest model the 12.5 tonne Magik features ‘Leader’ controls and a splitting capacity of up to 1.2m The intermediate table when fitted gives a comfortable working height for splitting rings and the output from this machine has to be seen to be believed.

It is fitted with "System Leader" controls, a variable stroke splitter and removable tables for logs up to 40cm diameter and 105 cm length. It is easy to wheel on hard surfaces. The 2.5hp, 230v motor will run from a domestic supply. Floor space of 40cm by 60cm is required for storage. |

The Thor Leader/Mignon range of splitters include models with 7.5, 8.5 and 10.5 tonne splitting force. The smaller models are fitted with 20cm dia wheels and the larger models with 40cm dia pneumatic tyres. Power options include petrol, electric on P.T.O. Max log dimensions are 60cm dia by 105cm long.
All features patented "System Leader" control. With "System Leader" a foot pedal brings the splitting wedge down until it contacts with the log. This allows the log to be placed accurately by hand. If the wedge meets any obstruction the blade will stop. Splitting takes place only when the operator has both hands on the motorcycle type handles.

 | The Practico (20 tonne) and Hercules (15 tonne) are professional 3 point linkage mounted vertical hydraulic log splitters. The Practico is fitted with a patented latch system which allows the splitting cylinder to be retracted for storage (270cm open and 180cm closed). When the optional intermediate table is fitted the splitting wedge can be set to return automatically. The splitting cylinder on the Hercules can be retracted after using a spanner (supplied with the machine) to remove 2 bolts.
Both machines are of heavy duty construction. The splitting wedge slides one fitted with Ertalon and bronze wear pads. Options include removable intermediate tables, 4 way splitting wedge, log lifting cradle and a pendulum dogging system. Maximum log length is 107cm. Power options include tractor P.T.O. or 3 electric motor.
